What's fun in Las Vegas this weekend: Tim McGraw, Mary J. Blige's residency opening, Metallica at the Sphere, and a pumpkin festival. The plan for October 23–25, 2026.
The short answer

Blige opens her My Life, My Story residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, Metallica plays the Sphere on Saturday, UNLV hosts BYU at the Thomas & Mack Center, the Raiders play at home on Sunday, and the Great Pumpkin Festival runs both weekend days.

Friday, October 23: A Night of Headliners
Friday night belongs to the big rooms. Tim McGraw plays The Colosseum at Caesars Palace at 8pm, the same hour Mary J. Blige opens her My Life, My Story Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM and Charli XCX takes the MGM Grand Garden Arena stage at 8pm. Three marquee shows, three venues, one night, and the hardest part is choosing.
If your taste runs to something warmer and your evening starts a little later, Earth, Wind & Fire takes The Venetian Theatre at 8:30pm. However you spend Friday, ease into it. This weekend has a lot of good options still ahead.

Saturday, October 24: From Market to Metallica
Saturday starts gently and builds. The Downtown Summerlin Farmers Market runs 9am to 2pm, an easy way to stock the kitchen or just wander with coffee in hand. At 11am, The Wizard of Oz: An Immersive Film Experience brings a classic to the Sphere, a strong pick if you have kids in tow or you simply want the wonder without the evening crowd.
Sports fans own the midday slot: the UNLV Rebels host the BYU Cougars in a men's basketball exhibition at the Thomas & Mack Center at 1pm. Then the music picks back up, with Mary J. Blige at Dolby Live at 4pm and, at 8:30pm, Metallica at the Sphere alongside Earth, Wind & Fire at The Venetian Theatre. The Sphere does double duty on Saturday, Oz by day and Metallica by night.
For something smaller and a change of pace from the arenas, Piff the Magic Dragon performs at the Flamingo.

Sunday, October 25: Ease Into the Week
Sunday keeps the energy high and the pace a little calmer. The Las Vegas Raiders host the Los Angeles Rams at Allegiant Stadium at 1:25pm, and Mary J. Blige plays an afternoon matinee at Dolby Live at 4pm for anyone who missed the earlier shows. The Great Pumpkin Festival opens for day two at the Otonomus Hotel, so the weekend can close the way it started: with something to do together.
One honest note before you head out: confirm times, tickets, and availability before you go. Show schedules shift and rooms fill up, and a quick check on the venue's site saves a long drive. Halloween's own big weekend is one week out, and the weekly local's guide already has that plan locked in. And if a great weekend here gets you thinking about making Las Vegas home, the neighborhoods guide is where I would start.
